Nathan Stumpf-Head Coach
Coach Stumpf graduated from ASU in 2010, where he got his B.S. in Applied Biological Sciences. He received his Master of Science in Biology from Grand Canyon University in 2019. This will be Coach Stumpf’s 12th year coaching high school basketball and his 9th year at Pinnacle High School. Coach Stumpf was previously the Head Varsity Basketball Coach at Goldwater High School from 2019-2021. During his last stint at Pinnacle, he was the Head JV Coach and before that the Head Freshman Coach. He’s thrilled to be back and a part of a coaching staff that has a plethora of knowledge about basketball and emphasizes the fundamentals of the game. Off the court, Coach Stumpf enjoys spending time with his wife, Amanda, and their two kids, Natalie and Jordan. He goes to Suns games in his spare time and is an avid autographed basketball jersey collector. |
Mike Boyd-JV Assistant Coach
Coach Boyd attended Lake Zurich High School in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. He was a 2-year varsity captain and was named to the honorable mention All-Area team his senior year in 2011. He then went on to North Central College where he started 4 games as a freshman for a team that went on the Division 3 sweet sixteen. After his freshman season he transferred to Harper Community College where he played his sophomore season. He then accepted a basketball scholarship to Roosevelt University in Chicago. Two weeks into his junior season he found out that he had a degenerative bone disease “Avascular Necrosis” that ended his career and caused him to not be able to walk for almost two years. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology in 2017 from Roosevelt University. Coach Boyd is the founder of Training With Purpose LLC. A basketball player development organization and has 10 years of experience training players of all levels from professional to youth. Coach Boyd uses his unique experiences to motivate athletes to never take anything for granted and also help prepare them for life after basketball. |
